We had an ad in Outdoor news for the RA seminar several years ago.  Cost several hundred for 1/8 page ad, run one time. It didn't do very much in response.

Joe, With all due respect, how do we know what the ad pulled in?

No one but me handled the responses. When the ad ran, I started asking respondants how they found out about the seminar. The ad didn't cover the cost, not by a long shot.

Placing an add in the Pennsylvania game commissions rules and regulations manual. Every legal hunter in Pa gets one.

I know the PTA puts a membership ad in this every year and it is anything but cheap. It is far more expensive than the Outdoor News and I honestly don't think you will get a very good  response from it. I could find out what it costs if you guys want. But I think there are other avenues we would do better to research.

A picture of the yearly Predator hunting contest plaque is a good idea. It shows the names of what district won and what year. Again more hipe and goals for the members.

Here's some good ideas, if I may say so myself, that I mentioned in the past but went nowhere for whatever reason.

1) Free advertising
   A) PA Outdoor news will post free ads of events, hunts, etc.
We should be posting EVERY SINGLE EVENT THERE EVERY SINGLE ISSUE!
   B) I haven't read a pred magazine in awhile, but I believe you can post hunts and events FREE!
   C) FOXPRO website lists about 20 links OF THEIR COMPETITORS!!
Don't you think they'd put us in there for simply asking?
   D) I'm sure there are plenty more websites we could get a link posted.

2) Free promotion
   A) Press releases are free!  Why not ask PA Outdoor news to do an article about us?
   B) PA Game news?
   C) Every Cabelas, Gander, BPS has a bulletin board. Cost? 1 thumbtack.

Maybe we need a press secretary?

Info from the PGC on advertising.
Liberty Press serves as publisher and handles all advertising accounts for the digest. Ad rates range from more than $10,000 for a full-color page to around $500 for a classified box ad. Promotional advertising does not constitute endorsement by the Game Commission or Liberty Press.

For additional advertising information concerning the Pennsylvania Digest of Hunting & Trapping Regulations, contact Guy Van Dyke at Liberty Press Publications. The toll-free telephone number is 1-800-296-6402.
