Has it ever been discussed to do online membership registration/renewal and payment?
I know some prefer the old mail the check system, but I also know there are a lot of people that like the convienence of online also.

I understand some have concerns of paypal also, but to use their service is secure and free of charge and as long as you use a verified checking account and not a credit card for payment.

Just thinking it might boost membership if made easier.
Thanks
Shawn

the problem is if we do paypal there is no signiture from someone releasing us(ppha) from thier actions.

Ben you can do an online signature/check box...just as you do with agreeing to rules and regulations of a site...or the terms of a credit card agreement when you do an online application for one of them

I agree that it would be easier.  Also, do you guys have a way to tell where new members come from?  In other words, how did they find ppha?  If it were my call I would maybe add something to the application that asks them "How did you hear about PPHA?" and then have some options ... Friend, Advertisement, Search Engine, etc, etc.

I actually heard about it through friends/ online chat with Woody, Bootmud, Lookin4fur and some others that were helping me start out in predator hunting.

Key, I agree that would be a good thing to add...you then know how youre reaching people for further promotions

I'll say it again. We tried Paypal.  As one who receives the applications, I can tell you this:
Paypal only has room for a little info on its application. I wind up calling or emailing a new member for the rest of it.
For legal reasons, I prefer a signature not a checked box. Anyone can check a box.

Its very possible to have a web form that is filled out and emailed to PPHA, from there they are sent to another page that has them pay via paypal or giving them directions on where to send the check or money order.

Just putting it out there.

I would like to see online renewal myself. I just got this computer and don't want to hook up a printer and/or buy an ink cartridge. Maybe a holding process on applications till money is received. Unless someone prints me a copy I have little options. I'm due next month.

I am sure one of the officers would gladly mail you one. I think you need to sign the application for insurance reasons, so on line applications might be a problem. But you never know some one might be able to figure that out to.
