I try to take head shots as often as I can, sometimes I catch a jaw bone or a neck if they are circling hard and do the ole stop and go. The Hornady VMax can be a little tough on the fur at times though. One of these days I'll get into reloading, I believe the hollow points would be a little more forgiving. Hope you can get out soon and have a little fun with your new set up. Would love to see some pics.

I always loaded V-Max 40gr, but like I said, loaded them down, 11½gr lil-gun with a Fed sm pistol primer... I'm not sure loading the 17 down would be a good idea with the light bullets they use...

my biggest problem is you can only call at night in NC on private land, most of the good land is leased by the deer hunt clubs and they don't want you in there till after deer season is over... makes it difficult when you don't know anyone with land...

Boy we got some good competitions going on this season. Red fox going back and forth along with grays. Gonna be interesting to see how this all pans out
