.270 & .308
« on: September 11, 2014, 06:38:41 AM »
We will be at East Waterford Sportsmen's Friday.
Our son has two rifles for sale...and will have them with us.

Winchester .308, Ranger Compact. 20" barrel. Walnut stock. Bolt action.
Cream puff, real nice. $450
I don't need another rifle, But I should buy this beauty.

Remington .270 BDL. made in late '60 early '70's. Bolt action.
Another Cream puff. $400

Both rifles have scopes and mounts. Not sure of the brand.

Glad for him but bummed for me.  I was going to buy the 308 if he did not sell it at the trapper event.  Hern, you wanna sell me a good deer rifle?

Yeah, +1 on the Ruger American.  My son was looking at them as well.

L4F, I don't have any to sell. Only have 1 Deer Rifle and I may need it someday.

Our son, Kyle, sold the rifles to a gun dealer on Friday. Dealer said the Winchester .308 is going in his collection and the Remington .270 was going to camp with him this season. So he bought 'em for himself. Plus Kyle started bartering high and the Dealer low, but Kyle got $10 more than he was asking...lol.

How Kyle got the Rifles...
My brother stopped gun hunting years ago and sold his rifles and shotguns.
Last month his wife wanted to re-finish their cedar chest. She as him to get everything out of it and bring chest to garage.
Brother found 3 Rifles, wrapped in blankets, in the bottom of their cedar chest...lol. He told me he completely forgot about them.
Rem. .270, Rem. 30 06, Win. .308.
He ask me to buy them or sell 'em. He was visiting/staying with us over Labor Day weekend and brought the 3 Rifles along.
Kyle bought all 3 guns. My brother sold reasonable, because Kyle said he had to make a few bucks because he wanted to resell 'em.
He sold the .30 06 to our nephew (his cousin) the next day.
Sold the other 2 Rifles to dealer. Fast sales and Kyle made a few bucks.

Oh yea, I think Kyle has a pre-ban AK-47 FOR SALE.
New, in box. (we did shoot 20 rounds, just because we had to shoot it)
2 stocks, 2 forearms.
If anyone is interested, pm me for info.

+ 1 on the TC Venture.  I own a couple and every one holds a tight pattern right out of the box.  I love mine.
