I am in an area of mostly reds.  I always stand and use a TriX Shooting stand.  This year I've had more fox come in and almost run me over than any other year.

The poll selections both say the same thing.  But you need to have both also.  For me it depends on the time of day and terrain.  If it is at night I am standing, which is probably 90% of my hunting.  During daylight I make myself as small as possible, so sitting or even laying down.  During the day if I can use terrain, vegetation, or shadows for cover I will stand.

I used to sit until I bought a Caldwell FieldPod. Now I stand.

Stand...I hunt open fields and farm pastures, with the potential of anything coming from any direction.

I think it all depends upon the area of being hunted and the prey being persued!  When I hunt red fox, I always stand.  I call them into the open field and they don't seem to even notice me standing there.  Having said that, I try not to siloute myself in the skyline.

When I hunt coyotes, I sit to break up my outline and get better concealment with  my surroundings.

I stand in open during the night because I am calling Fox and using my red lens light to hide behind.

I usually sit during daylight because I can be concealed with less movement. (sitting like a Toad)
On the other hand, I will not pass up a tree (in the right spot) to stand behind. I do like to stand behind the tree for concealment and to use as a rest.
I also carry by-pass pruners to trim sitting and standing spots, if needed.

Good idea I always want to do this but never get the pruners in my pack
