It always good finding new spots for a new adventure in the woods!
The wind had been pretty tricky around here too I'm gonna wait for a calmer night to get back out.  Hope you get back out soon and drop some fur.

Well i whiff on my first fox.....caller was 75 yards from me in a farm water drain....I was useing cottontail distress and jackrabbit....starting each set with high volume and then turning it low....the fox approach down wind from me st 175 yards...hitting it with the Noxx killer light ...he was sneeking the whole time.....he was anout 40 yards from the caller...layed my crosshairs on his head and thoughtI made a good shot....but couldnt find him....went this morning no luck...I should have waited another 30 yards closer...but it was exciting! Im hooked now cant wait to get back out there...I ll be more patient nexttime....

just a silly question ... but may not be that silly .. i noticed in a previous post you said you were using a kill light .. and also you had the caller some distance away from you .the light   tells me your hunting at night .  I dont know if this method is common practice or not as i was taught one way and always stuck to it . .. night hunts you always keep your caller right in front of you as you will only light up the eyes if there looking right at you cause thats where there ears say to look.. which allows you to scan a large area and see emm coming . verses just a small narrow one ... they will be looking at the caller as thats where the sound is coming from .. not yourself  ... where the light is coming from .  hence cutting down your reaction time and also the chance of doubles and so forth ..   I may have read the post wrong or just be in my own old world so dont take take it the wrong way .

Hey np Jim....i had the caller 75 yards from me....too far after..i thought about it.....would turn volume 75%.......and run it for a few mins......scan the 2 fields i was working out of.....when i see red eyes...scan light off....volume cutdown..50%...kill light on rifle lites him up.....if he continues to move into my direction...volume goes down......low....he gets into my range and i pull the trigger...I don t like having the caller against me ever...i put it out hopeing the fox will walk by me zeroing on the sounds and not me.....Ive had goodluck..but i am a rookie....but will take you sugguestions and ideas.....cause i am learnng....Rusty
