My replacement.
« on: July 22, 2012, 11:28:05 PM »
The new beast!! 22-250 This will be my yote and ghog partner.
Sweet deal on this set up. Usually things don't work in my favor but this must have just been meant to be. Bought the gun from a great gunsmith was gonna cut the barrel down but before I did I found a great (new in box) Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 for a price I wasn't about to pass up. After  site this in I will be looking forward to testing it's capabilities in the field.

sweet rig. I'll be putting together a D6 G-hog contest coming up so you'll be able to test it out.

It's a Remington 700 varmint 22-250 with a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44. I'm not a gun nut by any means. I was actually hitting up PPHA members in Pm to ask advice in either to get this on or a Savage 111 Hoghunter in 223. After seeing the stock on the savage, I went with this.

Ryan, I'm with you on that. This whole thing came together unbelievable. This kind of deals never happen to me. I went to a gunsmith that I haven't seen in a while and came across this used Rem 700 22-250. It was in perfect condition. I wanted a 223 but This gun was on sale for $420. I bought a cheaper Bushnell banner 4-16x40 illuminated reticle that was $99 but I got it for $79 at Walmart since it was placed in the wrong spot. Little did I know they have to honor it. I went on craigslist to find a scope for my shotgun and seen a new placed add for this scope and to boot, the guy lived about 2 miles away. Come to find out he won it and didn't have a use for it. I talked him down to $325 on it and it list for $549. This thing was still in the box the high profile knobs are still in the bag and the shade cover was still in the factory paper wrap. usually when things like this come up I usually don't have the money to capatalize on it. This time things went my way.

Anyhow, I'll have to start looking for one of those in a .17 fireball see if I can find one. guy sells cheap scopes is that macgees optics something like that.
