Made two calls

I made two calls for people that have been asking me for a wile. I have slowly over the last year or so have been making them for some people that ordered them over two years ago. There are a few on hear that also have been waiting. Sorry, if you are one of the people waiting you are not alone and I will more and likely get to ya if i still have you on record. I like making calls as a hobbie and for relaxation. I slowed up two years ago because it became a job with so many orders it took the fun out of it for me. So now when I make them it is when fell like it. But here are two I made this week for long awaiting people.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing. I love exotic hardwoods, I was a cabinetmaker for years before I went to college.  What for wood did you use? Look great, what do you charge?

I too have worked with a lot of types of wood and enjoy the end results of eack kind. These two woods are crotch cherry from right here in pa. Been curing for 3 years. The other is  cocobolo.
All my calls are bladed and hand tuned.to my liking. Not sure how much I will charge for future calls. These calls were for $55 + shopping. I might just have people bid for them from now on and start price would be $55, but who knows what I might do. I might go flat head cat fishing or hunting. ;-)

A few coyotes also died because of his  skills as a call maker.  Open reed or closed reed – doesn’t matter they all are killers.

He made this one from the antler base of the first deer my daughter killed.


Not only a great craftsman but a good friend as well.

I check in every now and then, mostly to keep tabs on you, Buckwheat, goose and a few others.  Don't see much from Scott, is he still around?  I'm still able to get out but not like I use to.  Kinda hard calling using a cane or crutches or a wheelchair but I still manage.  I hunted a benefit contest this past weekend.  Would have won if I could hit what I called in.  Kinda hard to kill something when your fumbling around with a pair of crutches and trying not to make to much noise or movement.    Never the less it was fun.

Just seeing my good friend post brings a smile to my face. I meant to call you over Christmas but some how just did not happen. Thanks for the report on your calls, they were built for you at the most fun time to make calls for me. Seams I somehow got to busy with life after that.  Things must be changing for the better since I am now making some calls with the same thoughts in mind, for the enjoyment and fun and maybe end up with some spare cash in my pocket to buy more wood. I will be calling you.

You may want to hold off on that phonecall.   Not only can't I walk to good but I'm dang near deaf.  The telephone company is going to put an amplifier on the phone in the coming week - maybe.
