Ohio giant
« on: November 16, 2011, 10:40:15 AM »
Grrrrrrrr!! I went out to Ohio friday night and went bow hunting Saturday and Monday. Saturday morning I shot right over the back of a true giant of a buck. G2's were 12-18 inches high, incredibly long heavy main beams, G3's were 12-14 inches, I was too wound up to check out all the other points for their length. The buck was really gray in the face. Aimed for 50 yards and the deer was 45. Just barely shot over his back. Now he haunts me in my dreams. Hunting with an outfitter in Ohio = $2,000.00+....Hunting like I did on national forest = $149.00 for license + $160.00 in gas = $309.00. What's the chance I would get a shot at a bigger buck with an outfitter?  I love diy hunts...but I sure hate when I miss the buck that only a few hunters ever get a chance at.
