NO COYOTES!!
« on: February 22, 2011, 12:41:54 PM »
LOL
I just felt like saying that, I have red fox but coyotes are a rarity in my area. Some day they might get here in huntable numbers but they better hurry I am getting older every year.
You know, I THINK I already have the fox hunting season ending blues and I hate fishing in the cold. Now what am I what am I going to do ?
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

Make me a howler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

I wouldn't want em if I was you. I got so many in my area and so many poachers at night that you can't hardly even get a chance at a decent buck. I shot my best buck at 13 years of age and there is nothing around like that anymore. Thanks to the coyotes and all the rednecked people in my area that gun em down at night or before season. Hey, I will take a howler...

I really do not want coyotes running the red fox out, I just want to call something and coyotes would fill that need this time of year.
I would head up there but you probably have them thinned down pretty good in your area this time of year.

You guys in the east got it to easy . Tons of big fields with lots of foxes. Come over here in Western Pa. and call in some foxes. We love coyotes here. LOL

It just looks like there a lot of fox in the east. Truth is we just have the good callers back here and that makes it look like there is a lot of critters.

There sure are a lot of foxes here in the east. The on night I called in fox the first 3 sets and the fourth a bobcat came in. Out of the four set ups, there was no coyotes that came, but the next night I did 6 sets and called in 3 coyotes. ........

You guys in the west part of the state sure have some good looking habitat. You should have gray fox.

Not sure where everyone is hunting but I watch them all archery season long,I don't think the east has more foxes, just a better balance.

This year, I think the reds and grays were about 50/50, you just had to look for a little different cover.
but the fox dominated the coyote/fox ratio by 70/30
