CZ 527
« on: February 20, 2011, 09:57:10 PM »
I have question for all you old guys.

I'm looking to get another CZ 527 in .223.  Should I go with the carbine with 18.5 inch barrel or the 21.9inch barrel?  What are your thoughts?

i don't own a CZ 527.  However the shorter barrel might be a good gun if your going deep into the sticks to hunt coyotes.. Lighter, compact.

I have a heavy barreled 26 inch Encore 17 Rem and a 21 inch 17 Fireball in the Encore barrel.. I like the shorter barrel for predator hunting.. Now as far as a chuck gun...The 17 Rem 26 inch heavy barreled gun would be preferred.. So maybe just ask yourself if you want it for chucks (long barrel) or if you want it for a mountain rifle or a rifle your going to carry and walk with far (short barrel)..

Buckwheat has a CZ maybe he will post his comments on how he likes it.. It's a 17 Rem but not the 223 but it's a CZ..

Ok it's a toss up between a CZ or a T/C Venture. Which one should it be?

Cz has a set trigger. I like that for better accuracy.

I had a CZ last year but had to sell it when wife lost her job. I can a CZ for $594 no scope or a Venture synthetic for $425 no scope.

I really like that 17 CZ.  But 169 dollars difference is a lot. Either gun seams like a nice gun. You would not have to worry as much about the finish on the synthetic. How well does the venture shoot, I never heard much about them either way.
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

They're saying 1 inch groups at 100 yds for the venture.

Nah you don't want that...1 inch off the point of impact on the shoulder or 1 inch to the right or left of the center of the chest. Nope you don't want that either... ;D ;D Of course I'm just joking here... 1 inch..Nah.. your going to get him.. Also who to say it won't shoot better then 1 inch... I have a custom Encore barrel for a 17 Fireball but I never keep hitting the same hole when I fire... So...yep 1 inch.. not bad... save bucks..  You could try to get a used CZ too???????

Um if you still have an Encore action...the 223 barrel...24 incher would cost you about $248.00????????????????

Thanks for the input guys.

UB I do still have the encore. But I'm looking for something that can have a quick follow up.

b,

could probably get it a bit cheaper from Kenny, let me know if you are looking for one or stop in and tell him you know me and you are a predator hunter, he will take care of you.  i will talk to him and see what he can do next time i see him.   i will probably buy one in the near future.
