Hot farm
« on: February 16, 2011, 10:44:09 PM »
I hunted the farm that Naildriver and I usually hit,
This place was just sizzling with life tonight. Two house cats started it off right by the standing corn.
As I crested a knoll in the farm lane, I see eyes at about 125 yards.
As I scope it, I see its a red fox, sitting on its haunches facing to my left.
It keeps looking at something to the left, then looking at me.
Thinking I could get it a little closer, I give the bulb squeaker a few soft squeezes and it vanishes!!!!
So I move to my right to get a better view of the field and try some rabbit in distress.
Out bounces a pair of eyes from the tree line, its a coon, so I lay off to give the fox a chance to come around ( I am currently in a fox contest till Saturday) The coon comes a bit and gets bored and mills around 80 yards out.
No fox shows up so I dig out the Gray and Grizz call and give it a shake.
The coon locks in and charges at me with 2 more coon behind it.
The 223 cracks the coon down at 15 yards and the other 2 rip up the nearest tree.
So, I figure, heres 2 more easy coon, but then I think about the walk out carrying a rifle, shooting stick, and the first big boar.
I had them both in the scope dead to rights, but opted to let them swim for another time, with less to carry.

The fur was a little flat but not rubbed,
The fur on my face is good and prime, and just LOOKS whiteish
