Hummingbird Moth
« on: August 08, 2010, 07:29:15 PM »
We had a family cookout at our house this evening. After we eat we take a walk.
First stop was one of our Butterfly bushes.
Granddaughter spotted a Hummingbird Moth working over the blooms...

Second stop was a new Rabbit nest, I saw while mowing the other day, square in the middle of the back yard...

Rest of the walk was the usual Rabbits, Birds and stray Cat sightings.

That's funny. I said the same thing...It's my granddaughter's hand (r.) with ring and wife's hand (l.)

Neat pictures, when I was a kid living at home there were a lot of rabbits that would nest in our yard. One day I found three nests. Being a kid and exploring things. I went and looked at the three nests. I thought how neat it was that I could look at these little guys in the nest. Later that day a house cat went and killed every rabbit in all three of the nests I had looked at. The cat did not eat any just played with them, it looked like to me and killed them. I figured that my human sent from me handling these rabbit nest gave the house cat a sent reason to check them out too. There has been a lot of cats in the last 40 years that I have looked at differently since then.

For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.
