thievery
« on: December 27, 2009, 02:16:37 PM »
Went out hunting last night with a friend and called in and hit a coyote with a shotgun, not my gun of choice for coyote. Then we spent the next hour following the blood trail and in the process got a little further from the vehicle than I would have liked.I heard a loud diesel pickup stop at my vehicle but was to far away to do anything. When all was said and done they made away with 1.foxpro fx3    1.westernrivers cassette caller   1.snow camo suit   1.camo jacket    1.bag of assorted hand calls and some other personal items.Merry Christmas!!!!!

That's horrible. I hate when other hunters do this. The reason I accused a hunter and not just anybody is because they knew what to take and what was more valuable. I'm so sorry to hear of this. I get mad as heck when someone stole one of my $100 treestands so I can't begin to know how it would feel to have over $600 worth of stuff stolen.

Being that we were hunting no more than 200 yards from the vehicle I felt there was no need to lock. But when I shot the coyote and had to do some tracking around the back side of a hill I lost visual contact with the vehicle. My partner stayed on top of the hill and could see the truck pull up but could not tell what they were up to.I remember hearing the loud diesel truck coming and going but was unaware what was happening.I left my guard down and they got a lucky break. And to add salt to the wound the coyote got away.

Sorry to hear about this. Hope they catch them and throw the book at them. Hope you get all your stuff back.

I lock my car even if I'm only going to be 25 yards away just for that reason. Once you shot and wound something you forget about your car being unlocked.

man....this just gets me worked up!! >:( >:(

i only lock my vehicle if i'm gonna be out of eyesight of it. may have to think twice now about this after reading your horrible news.

aint nothing worse than haveing somthing stollen from you....i feel your pain. had my Onida compound bow stollen out of the bed of my old pickup while in the bank making a deposit. police got the security photage from the bank but the quality wasn't good enough to get a good description on the guy nor his vehicle...live and learn. :(

hope that you figure out who this was and get your gear back!

Wow...thats just horrible foxtrot. Like Woody said, that just gets me all fired up when a low life does that. Being that there is a lot of "children" around the area that drive big diesels. Did your partner see the color of the truck?

If someone stole my hunting stuff, especially my predator hunting gear, I'd be out to get blood. :-\
