I remember it go so bad in the subject time frame.  That the Pa game Commission opened up fox hunting into the summer months....Counties like Fulton, York, Cumberland, Franklin, fox were all running wild with rabies.....
They the state of Pa needed the Pa Predator Hunters  then to help stop the spread of the rabies virus by shooting fox out of season...Kind of neat that we could help them back then.... See you never thought that your like a malita...Kind of like on call if rabies get real bad...The state may ask you to help curb the spread of rabies again by hunting them out of season.....

I remember the rabies epidemic. At that time I was more into trapping and even got my rabies shot as a precaution. It hit the raccoon population very hard in our area as the population at that time was at an all time high.I quess mother nature took care of that.
