so saturday afternoon my son and i were leaving the house and i seen a red in the field beside my driveway. we stopped and watched it for awhile and when it got up and moved i noticed it had mange pretty bad on its flanks and his tail was bare skin.
i got home tonight from work, walked out back behind my house and placed the FX3 60yds out on front of me in the cut corn and sat with the wind in my face(not my normal set-up..but wind was blowing from the east tonight for some reason) and the sun at my back. played vole squeaks for a couple mins than switched to baby cottontail. 3min into the stand that mangy mutt came trottin in from my left just as i had anticipated....stopped to check the FX3 out and i dropped him at 55yds.
lost my patch cable for my camera so i took some pics with my cell of the mange. L2F is gonna email them back to me so i can post them up.......it aint purty by any means...but figured i'd post them up so some of the guys out there who never seen mange can get a gander. this is my first fox of the season and although i had planned on saving the fox here on the farm for the D1 hunt...this one had to go a.s.a.p. with all his litter mates still running around and the dogs in the neighboring house. he came in on a string real quick as i'm sure his belly was empty...it was too easy...

check back for some pics.
