Any facts on 22 Magnum VS 17HMR

Any of you guys have any facts on these two calibers?  Due you fund the 22 magnum kills better than the 17 HMR?

I've seen the facts on these two and I don't think there was much of a difference due to the speed of the 17hmr. They are very close. I prefer the 17hmr in populated ares due to the fact that the bullet frags on impact and the 22 will bounce off almost anything it comes in contact with. In a populated area, exposure of an incident is much greater.

If you recall Earl, the last 3 fox's I killed last year were with a 17hmr.

This is topic that can get grown men to want to fight.  I have had good luck with the 22 WMR but only for fox....When I have used it. that would be during twilight conditons over snow when no light is needed... Shots can be taken at 100 yards...I liked CCI 22 hollow points.  Now I have gone to the 17 Rem Center Fire 25 grainers...Um  250 yards VS 100 yards so I don't use the 22 WMR anymore during twilight conditons over snow when a light is not needed...One has to watch when using a bulb squeaker during this period...Sometimes the fox....Run right at you and a shotgun would be better then the 22 WMR since the fox appear out o no where and they run right at you real fast.
The 17 HMR are more accurate.....I know of people who have killed red fox with them...However they are accurate beyond the 100 yard mark however they just do not have the knock down power like other calibers.  So if you shoot in total darkness with the 17 HMR your going to have death runs and probably not find the fox...However while you might have a death run over twilight conditons over snow...Hopefully the 17 HMR bullet after the hit will finally anchor the fox and you can go get it..However remember it will not be where you shot it if the shots are made more then 100 yards away....
