Final Finale

well, this is it. my last horah. :'(

tonight will probably be my last opportunity to hunt before the season closes next weekend. BigBen is headed out to my place this evening and we are gonna hunt till we drop, i hope. got quite a few good spots that i haven't called since the begining of the season or not at all this year to date. most of them i couldn't get to with the snow in the last few weeks during the Dist vs Dist hunt and when Life2Fun was out. BigBen is bringing his digital video camera in hopes of getting some eye's on film...hopefully some fur drops in the viewfinder! ;D
my spirits are high for tonight as i seen a red skirting a brushline this morning on a property i have permission on. hope he/she is still within earshot by tonight.

i'm gonna try at catch a few winks now.

just checked the weather one last time as its starting to flurry here a bit.

low 24*, flurries & snow showers ending at midnight, winds 5-10mph

looks good!

hope to end my resident fox's teasing this evening. got a red on the property that i've called up to my back patio numerous times since i've moved in. didn't get the 'okay' to hunt the farm i live on till a few weeks ago. couple coons running around too down by the ponds.
good chance of fur on the gambrel tonight...or so i hope.

BigBen is crashing here tonight when we call it quits, might try for some crows in the a.m. if he's up for it before heading home.

Umm...lets see.
1st stand~ zilch
2nd stand~ zero
3rd stand~ fox came in through the woods to BigBen, no eyes seen, one bark given in our general direction
4th stand~ nuttin
5th stand~ busted. red circled UPWIND behind BigBen and proceed to curse at us.
6th stand~ cut fresh coon tracks, followed and called....nadda
7th stand~ zippo

had fun none the less.  ;)

I made 3 stands last night before the wind picked up more. On the third set I had eyes out beyond 200 yards but couldn't identify as to what it was. I don't think it was a predator since the eyes weren't all that bright. All 3 stands felt promising in the beginning, but produced nothing.
