Fox Skulls and the shot

While working with Lookn4fur at the Eastern Outdoor Show  he held up a gray fox skull and pointed out how guys will shoot for the head.. His point was there is not much target area to shoot at...So...Probably not the best area to shoot at....200 yards away with a rifle... I did notice... this year...I hit a red fox right in the forehead with a 25 grain HP from my 17 Fireball... I took the top of his head off..  Fox didn't look pretty.  I have heard that fur people don't care if a fox is head shot.. They don't use the fur around the head...It's kind of up to you... Might be better to aim for the chest or the shoulder... Just something to think about.. When I shoot a fox I for one don't want it blown up...

However with a shotgun... It's OK to shoot for the head and the chest area all at the same time.. Hey a few pellets in the head ain't half bad..

Thanks Tim for pointing that out to me while at the show.. I just wanted to share that with others too..
