250 killLight Going up in price in 2011
« on: February 04, 2011, 12:43:10 AM »
Notice the 250 Killight went up in price from $119 to $139.00  Same with extra  batteries too...They are also now selling an additional rechargeable batteries that last longer then the ones that come with the 250 Killlight kit..Suppose to make the lights last an additional hour longer..  the new batteries (2 each) 3000 mah cost about $34.00 for the pair.  The other rechargeable batteries were selling for about $19.00 in 2010 they are up to  $24.00 for the 2011 year..Might be good to get the 3000 mah if your going to use the 250 Killlight for a scanning light?

Do you think a hood is needed on the 250 Killight... The light is already recessed a good 2 .5  inches down in the light the way it is? By placing a hood on are you causing the red  250 Killight not to open up like a wide beam?????Maybe that's what you want?  a tight beam instead of one that really lights up the entire area you hit with the light????/

UB,

Yes I think you'll need a hood as I did on mine.

What I did was took a pill bottle thats about 4 in long and the inside dia is the same as the outside of the 250, very snugly I might ad. I used electrical tape to darken it  it could be painted and I make one wrap of electrical tape to secure to light.

Works great and it's cheap.

Yes the price went up for the 250 but to PPHA members Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers is giving a 10% discount.

They also stock extra batteries, the normal ones not the new ones yet.

I just got one of those NiteCore Headband for D10 Flashlight from lightjunction_dot_com on Ebay. $9.99 free shipping and it works great for the 100 as a scan light on top of your head.

Can't wait to get it in the field..

UB,
I needed a shield on my 250. When mounted on my .223 it lit up the end of the rifle barrel. I just used a piece of pvc pipe on the end of the 250. If you looking to get one this guy here also gives a PPHA discount http://www.questsportsonline.com/ .

HHADOC, I also got the Nitecor headband. At First I tried using it with the 250 but it only flopped around on my head due to the weight, but works perfectly with the smaller 100.

I had the 250 Kill Light illuminated on my scope for 5 stands at about 1/2 hour each.. So the Red 250 Killight battery lasted 2 1/2 hours for me before I had to pop in a new one.. On my 6th stand I put another new battery in but...However the first battery was just getting dimmer I could have probably got away with it on the 6th stand too. So it could have made it through 3 hours of actual use..  Normally I might hunt 6 hours a hunt. So I could get away with two batteries for sure. But I do have 4 Killlight batteries on me..

Sadly after using the 250 Killlight...I think the Primos 250 light is junk.
