This call is used for upland game hunting for birds...Ringneck namely maybe quail...
See when hunting ringneck...The hawk call used near fields is suppose to make the game birds freeze at the end of the field..They are put in a shock or simulated state of horror that a hawk is near by..Hence they do not run nor do they fly..As you walk up to them they flush because you made them freeze because they thought a hawk was hovering or nearby in the trees.
