Canned Maple Leeks
« on: April 27, 2010, 08:45:22 PM »
Well I can't find Morels but I found a heck of a patch of wild LEEKS.  Took the kids out for the youth Turkey hunt and struck out.  Went back Sunday to pick Leeks.  Here are some photos in the wild and at different stages of the canning process.  I'm bringing some to the snake hunt for all to try.  If the end product is as good as the marinade mixture, they should be awesome.

I screwed up and threw out the stems and leaves.  I didn't realize you could use them also.  Oh well, next time I'll remember.  Oh and by the way, it takes a lot of leeks to get seven pints.  ;DEnjoy...........Tim

"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!
