I have had a Walker game ear for over 12 yrs. I don't hunt w/out it. It was, I believe. one of the simple, original models. I shoot right handed, therefore I wear it in my left ear.
It breaks up the noise from the muzzle blast, yet helps in my hearing. As far as wind goes, it has to be pretty heavy to be a bother.
It fits nicely in my ear. Today they make all sorts of higher priced ($450) models.

There are different aids for different situations. The game ear  is strictly for hunting.
My regular hearing aids are for normal use. I use them, but sparingly. Especially when background noises like music, can make conversation very hard.
And the good ones are costly. My pair cost me $3600, and that was 8 yrs ago.
Of course I'm much older than you are.

;) ;) ;) I used SportEar's for several years before I got the hearing aids I have now, SportEAR    sportear.com@mail46.wdc01.mcdlv.net  ;) ;) ;) They had the noise suppressor, and were behind the ear model. My hearing aids today suppress loud sounds, they are once again behind the ear model but were just under $2500.  :P :P :P
