Title: pulling out of traps

I keep having traps set off and I keep getting small white hairs in the trap. I use number 2 duke for trapping and I have bigger traps and smaller. I usually trap for anything but these have been red fox urine sets. Almost 85% of the time whatever is in my trap pulls out. Is there anyway to fix this problem or figure out why this is happening.

Small, white hair usually is belly fur from Rabbit, Grey Squirrel or Red Fox.

You mentioned Fox urine, so I assume you are trapping Fox.

Sprung traps and pull outs indicate problems with one or more--- pan tension, pan/dog adjustment, weak springs, improper bedding, too much trap covering, freezing/thawing conditions without freeze proofing set and so on.

Is there anyway to fix this problem or figure out why this is happening.
Yes. Problems can be solved. But first you have to figure out why.
Did you tune your traps? Did you bed traps solid? Questions you should ask yourself and go from there.
By that, narrow down your problem and we can go from there.

 ;) ;) Great info from Hern, also I had a pull out last week but it was a deer investigating my hay bale set... :P :P :P :P dumb deer....deer tracks were the only ones there, no damage to the set, so I remade it.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good info Goose.
I forgot to mention Deer. They do snap alot of traps and are attracted to urine.
