Anybody hunt small game Thanksgiving morning as a tradition
« on: November 24, 2010, 11:49:47 PM »
I remember when I was a young man I use to go and hunt a couple hours behind my house in Carlisle..It was convenient...Just step out the back door and walk down into the field and hunt.. Would not hunt real long..Maybe 2 hours at most...I think in all those years I never harvested anything..Just took my shotgun for a walk.. Was nice... Small game was near over and I was off work.. Why not take the gun for a walk for a few hours on Turkey day...

I was thinkin about UB, but that is as far as I got. :P  We are gettin snow currently so tomorrow morning could be a good time to look for canine or fox tracks.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My tradition was rabbit hunting with the beagles till noon on Thanksgiving,
This is the first year, in 10 or so that I haven't, the beagles seem to know.
I may go for duck before dark though

We used to rabbit hunt the morning of Thanksgiving with the dogs too leglifter.  Those days are gone since I don't have a dog and everyone I used to go with passed away or quit hunting.
