Bait/lure making

I ordered to books to learn how to make lure and prepared baits. Was wondering if any trappers on here make their own lure?

I am pretty sure hern does.  I make fish oil and that is it.  that is enough.

I plan on trying to make that for next year.  My goal is to be as selfsufficant as possible and try to save money.

I learned my lure and bait making at the side of a master.  Nick Wyshinski has his latest book out now and i think it's all you need to get you started

I ordered 2 of his books.  formulating  and compounding animal lure and baits,  and  making and using lures and baits.

He was the only one that had books about making your own stuff and I looked around hard.
thanks

ab, you purchased the right books.
Nick is the man. Many well know lure makers of today purchase compontents from Nick.

Remember making lure is no 'cake batter'. By that, some things need proper aging. You just don't throw everything in a bowl and mix.

Understanding how lures, unine and glands work in the field is the next step.
Purchase 'Evaluation of Lures, Baits and Urines' by Charlie Dobbins
This book will give you a detailed look how lures do their job at sets.

Thanks everyone.

I read the books in one day and I am a slow reader.  I am going to make some next year.
