My IL turkey

(1/1)

sly_vixen:
I shot this bird in Illinois.

bigben:
nice gobbler ya got there. how long was the beard?  whats the details.  what is the call sitting in front.

yotebuster:
That is a great bird with a monster beard   .  Hope ya dont mind me saying this but I think that is one of the biggest birds ever taken with one of my calls (at least I think that is one of mine).  Congratulations on a wonderful bird and I wish ya many more successful hunts.

He had an 11" beard, weighed 22 1/2 lbs. and had about 1"spurs.  That is a call I ordered from Dave Dunbar.  I used that slate and my Kill R' Call, Renegade mouth call, through out the weekend and Monday.  I had a bunch of jakes and hens come into me, but I was holding out for a nice one, this year.  Even if it would have meant coming home from IL empty handed.  I did see a coyote, but never got a chance at it.  Hearing a gobbler coming in (Strutting and Drumming) strumming, will never get old.  I plan on getting out in the morning to try for one here in PA.  Wish me luck.
