22-250 ammo

whats a good starting point for 22-250 ammo?? its a 22 inch barrel with 1 in 14 twist rate, not sure what grain bullet should work best , ill be useing factory loads since i dont reload yet   thanks

I like 55 grainers when I use my 22250...I do have some good reloads too if you reload..  I Like the IMR 4320 powder for Hornady  55 grainers...
The Silver Tip Ballistic tips on chucks... Don't blow up the chuck at close range but after 100 yards they start to open the chucks up..


Factory...Try the Winchester 50 grain and the 55 grain Ballistic Silvertips..  Also the NoslerPartion  60 grainers (deer) shot excellent with the IMR 4350 powder when using the 22250..

thanks ub, i was leaning towards the winchester balistic silvertips , always had good luck with nosler bullets for some reason

With 1:14 twist you may have problems with the heavier bullets (60gr). I would advise you start with no heavier then 55gr to see if you weapon will shoot well at that weight.  good luck

Good point...My Encore 22250 barrel  has a 1:12 twist.
