Minktoberfest
« on: September 24, 2015, 01:05:28 PM »
Next Friday-Saturday-Sunday. 10-2 to 10-4
Anyone going to Don Powell's Minktoberfest? (In Punxsutawney)
2 1/2 days of instructions covering Mink, 'Cat, 'Rat, Coon, Canine, Fisher & Beaver trapping, with the emphasis on Mink trapping.
Don wrote the book on Mink trapping.

I will be giving a demo or two. But so will alot of guys. Everyone shares info, do demos and go to the stream or pond to show how to do it.
The event is full, just wondering if any member signed up and attending?

sounds like it's gonna be a very informative weekend, can we say "brain overload"?... may have to keep that in mind for next year...

Rockfish, this will be the 3rd or 4th year for Don's Minkfest. minktrapping.com
Don's takes a limited number of folks, and this year was booked early.
You nailed it, pretty much brain over load, but free time to BS too and camp fire at night. Gift exchange, trap tag exchange, a retired, big league baseball player will give a motivational talk, top trappers to beginner trappers will attend.
Am doing a brief Coyote calling demo, how to build and use Weasel Box demo and making pre-season trap beds & dirtholes and transplanting grass clumps for backing demo (to save time when setting).

Jake, location is Punxsutawney.
