Would be good if the wind dies down a bit...If not play distress sounds that carry better.. Jackrabbit and or Snowshoes instead of baby cottontail.
Also good time to use the high pitched howls too...female howls!!!

A couple of questions- heading out tomorrow,  an area that there are definite coyotes, landowner said today the last handful of nights he has been hearing howls and yipping at night, any special approach you guys would take to these yotes?

Also, uncle buck you mention female howls, all I have is a fury, no hand calls, I need to learn to howl over the off season but for now would you hesitate using an e caller for howls?

i have called them in with the fury sounds.  i have had good luck with fem invite, female challenge (not until about the 30 min mark or later) pup distress are a few that have had results.

Actually the howls and yipping have been at 7 pm each night, does the yipping represent young yotes? any special way you guys would approach these yotes?

I would say there are no more pups around this time of year.

They are vocal now since they are mating...Use any of your higher pitched coyote vocalization on your Fury now.. As you know higher pitched howls are female..
Also at about the 30 min mark on stand you can hit them with even the Male Coyote Challenge. Male vocalization is lower pitched of course..

It is near April. Most have pups. Mating was a couple months ago, if I'm not correct.
My father took a picture of a litter of pups from a blind, the first week of March last year.
I would wait about 4 months before hunting them.
