Alaska marten trip planned
« on: February 15, 2013, 08:42:52 AM »
Just got back from working for my buddy in Sitka,Alaska for 2 weeks. While there we planned a Jan. 2014 2  week trip for marten -mink and land otter.Non-resident license is $250.00.His friend was trapping local and had caught 27 marten and says they are worth $85-100 each.We plan on spending around 12 days out on the boat running a line. Were hoping to be lucky enough to at least cover expenses( the boat fuel will be $1000.00).Even if we don,t catch anything it,ll be a great adventure. He has a nice 46 foot boat and a great skiff for running the shorelines. We,ve been up twice with him but deer hunting. We just live right on the boat. The bonus for Jan. is there are a  lot less Brown bears out and about.have a fantastic day-Lloyd
