Post by: foxpro51 on May 04, 2011, 07:50:48 AM: Yes, it is not to bad but it can be used as a duel purpose hunting rifle from Buckwheats rifle rest. The weight will make the gun more stable when shooting at eyeballs at night and will also help when making long shots at groundhogs.

Post by: foxpro51 on May 05, 2011, 01:21:28 PM: Love this Savage Predator rifle. Shot it today with 223 Horniday 55 gr V Max bullets. Rifle put 5 shot group under 1/2 inch at 100 yards. Trigger is great around 2 LBS pull.

Post by: Critterslayer51 on May 06, 2011, 01:58:08 AM: I found that 62gr remington match HP loads are shooting clover leafs at 100yards out of my savage model 25 with a 1:9 twist...I don't know why I still hear some people sayin that savage isn't a quality rifle like remington, cz, browning, winchester...ect...they're cheaper, they're showing that they shoot better, little cosmetics work maybe, but savage really puts their money where it counts, and thats shooting accurately. When I was going around asking gunsmiths, and the local gents from the rifle leagues, out of the box, which is the best rifle? hands down savages are a whole different gun than they were years ago...not a one even hesitated, "savage"...they then said if you wanted better re-sale value get a remington, because more people still see those names as a better rifle, but honestly buy a savage...and that is how I ended up with my .223 in the model 25...looking forward to the rumors of a .17 CF coming down savages line...and the new savage 25 in .22 hornet (which all calibers for the mod 25 are on our card that goes off the week of independence day!)
