i have heard that sound a bunch of times and you are not busted yet.  usually when you hear it there is more than one dog in the area and they are split up.  when you are busted you will know it, if they make any sound at all, usually they are just gone.

If I was in the club then I guess it could have been a cougar calling out. As for there being more then on coyote in the area in your guys opinion is it better just to stay put and quite or to give a little bark or something. When this happened it was mating season and all I was doing was female whimpers every once in a while. Should I have played the hard to get game or a little of the come and get it???

i would have gone with a couple of light wimpers and then nothing for 10 minutes.
