« on: September 17, 2010, 09:11:04 PM »
OK, I was day dreaming about what state has great bobcat hunting. So what state is the best state to hunt Bobcats in.  We all know Texas is great state but were else and why would you consider another state good to hunt Bobcats in.

Kind of hard to beat Texas since bobcat is open all season and limit is all you can take.. I suppose if we could find the state that the same would prevail like Texas.  Open all year round and unlimited...Maybe a few of the out of staters who visit here can make comment on this?

Buckwheat good question thats for sure.

Yes, Texas is hard to beat but there are some other states that have to be pretty good number of cats to hunt cats in.
The information problem about cats might be there is not much talk about predator hunting in some other states. Look at Mississippi, tons of thick stuff there for cats. Maybe Mississippi is just too big of a word for us predator hunters to use. ::)

Nevada..Understand you don't even need a hunting license to hunt coyotes in Nevada.. Might be good to check their game laws on bobcat? They might be and I hate to say this word  "LIBERAL" on all the calling critters...

I had discussion with one of our posters on here onetime...Hodgen...He kind of said that...Las Vegas...You could go out there and almost get a free room at a casino and instead of playing the onearm bandits you could hunt coyotes for free.. Again I know we are talking bobcat on here but a web search by going to Nevada's Game Commission link might reveal bag limit and seasons on bobcat hunting..

I checked nevada website:  http://ndow.org/hunt/
Looks like coyotes and jackrabbits can be hunted without a license.. Should I find what the season is on the web link for bobcat I will place a post on here about it..

Bobcat
Dec. 1, 2010 - Feb. 20, 2011 Statewide Closed to Nonresidents

OK we can't hunt bobcat in Nevada..

A couple years ago some areas had cats selling for BIG dollars.  Same areas now may get a few hundred bucks a piece for them.  Too early to tell.

Soooo..  Do you want 3 high dollar cats or 30 clunkers?

Personally, I like quantity.  Texas would be fine with me...
