Title: 17 Hornet
Post by: nortpete on February 26, 2013, 06:39:35 AM
I decided to buy a 17 hornet for this years predator and fall turkey season. I have been trying to find one for a little while, and on Saturday I had a little luck. I had found 4 of them. I finally made it out to shoot it last night, and I am very happy with it. Shooting chucks will be fun, but I cannot wait until October!!!!! The first three shots at the top were my first shots at 100 yards. I made an adjustment then shot three and one 3/4" inch high.

It looks like you went with the Savage Walking Predator model.  I have the same gun and LOVE IT !!  Once you get a few more rounds through it, your groups may actually tighten up a little more.  Thus far, i haven't  had much problem getting ammo for it either.

I actually have about 1000 rounds stockpiled.  Get it now while you still can!!  Nice group.  You're going to love shooting that rifle!!!

I bought 200 rounds when I bought it. I love the way it shoots. I put a Redfield 4-12x40 mm scope on it. I have never owned a Redfield, but they are made by Leupold. I am happy with it so far.

There is one problem that I can see with your shooting.....There won't be any excuses if you miss!!

If you are going to use it a lot I would recommend getting 5,000-10,000 rounds or at least that much brass.
