In 2014 I went to a new ammo... the Federal 22 WMR's HP's. They shoot well in my Marlin... However all of my fox I killed this year with the rifle have been with the 17 Hornet.. For now I'm using the factory ammo in the 17 Hornet...I also have the 17 WSM but it's just not as accurate as the 17 hornet... It's also a lot louder to. I'm going to have to play around with the 17 WSM for chucks this Spring... even if the groups for the 17 WSM are not as good as the 17 hornet it will still hit fox at 100 yards... However I just can't get over how the 17 Hornet Encore barrel is shooting for me.. 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards with factory ammo.. Recently my son shot a red with the 17 Hornet right in the head... What an outstanding fox gun!!!!!!Now that's the kind of accuracy you need at night.. Something that's going to drop them right where you point it..
