I caught 2 Possums this season.
I took a picture of one Possum to enter in a Possum Contest on a trapping site.
I won the contest and received a 'how-to' Possum trapping book and a check for $50.
I didn't skun or sell either Possum but the way I figure it, my average is $25 per Possum.

Congrats on your win Hern. That's a heck of an average, I wouldn't mess with those numbers.

Goose, if you don't mind me asking, what were you averaging for red fox? Were they skin and stretched or on the round?
-
:( :( :( :( Price goes from $8-18 depending on size and quality of done up goods...not in the round
-
I sold a few a couple weeks ago. Some "finished" and some on the round. I averaged $8
-
Got $3.50 for most of my rats, but only $8 for my XL mink :P :P :P :P :P
-
That's not bad Goose.
Last week at the sale near Reading, 'Rats averaged $3.89, Male Mink averaged $8.96
I sold to Dutch two weeks ago- finished Reds $20, Coyotes $30
I was at Dutch's today and sold for the same prices. He gave me 15 cents a Squirrel tail. Last weeks fur sale, Squirrel tails averaged 22 cents.
At Dutch's today, A guy from Maryland had 80+ finished Reds and 2 Greys. His fur look terrible. Dried blood, not combed, legs to nose off center and weak. After Dutch and I were finished with business, and the Maryland guy left, I ask Dutch what average did you pay for those Reds...Dutch replied, 'not good.' I said, '$10?' He replied, 'no, no, no way below 10.' I said, 'they looked early caught,' Dutch said, 'you might be right'.
So what we look at is early-mid or late season fur plus if it's finished proper, green or in the round.
So put that into perspective when you hear someone's prices.
Yesterday, I talked with a friend from western Pa., Jerry Johnson was at his house to buy Coyote he caught in Wyoming. Friend ask Jerry what he was paying for Pa. Reds, Jerry said, '$10.' Friend sold his Wyoming Coyotes to Jerry but didn't sell his finished Pa. Reds.
Jerry is going to do well this season buying $10
