Golfers Getting Out Foxed
« on: August 20, 2006, 11:10:55 PM »
Brief information from an article that appeared in todays Harrisburg Newspaper.

For years, golfers at The Williamsport Country Club (District 3) area have been sweating the usual hazards - water, rough and sand traps.

The Country Club has two pesky foxes that for the past two years have taken a fancy to golf balls. "They come out in the middle of the fairway, pick up a ball and run away with it." They have also grabbed balls off greens before a golfer gets to putt.

Piles of golf balls have been found at two places next to the course, a couple of the balls have been chewed.

At a San Francisco course this summer, a player reported using glow-in-the-dark balls on a nearby driving range at night. He hit the ball, saw it stop and then veer away and vanish again and again. The bandit turned out to be a raccoon.
