Seems to me there is much lacking to this story.  Why would the guy warn them before shooting?  Maybe they were on private property and this allegid suspect thought they were poaching on his property.  Cant beleive everything you read.  Cops lie as good and better than most! ;)

the original story stated they were there to investigate the area for baiting, when they got there he saw them from a distance, yelled at them they were trespassing and fired some warning shots.   not very smart.

I would think we will not here the whole story until after the trial.
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

Story was written by some small paper reprter who got his info from the police report.  This is my point.  What info was released was from police.  All one sided.  Dont jump to conclusions is all I am going to say.  I have been in this position and the truth in the end is never released to the public.  Papers dont go back and recant anything they said.  They forget about it.  Give the guy the benefit of the doubt!

Innocent before proven guilty... ::)

I think we need a poem that says it all:

This is a very old poem, but it is still useful today:
A Fathers Advice

If a sportsman true you'd be
Listen carefully to me. . .
Never, never let your gun
Pointed be at anyone.
That it may unloaded be
Matters not the least to me.

When a hedge or fence you cross
Though of time it cause a loss
From your gun the cartridge take
For the greater safety's sake.
If twixt you and neighbouring gun
Bird shall fly or beast may run
Let this maxim ere be thine

"Follow not across the line."
Stops and beaters oft unseen
Lurk behind some leafy screen.
Calm and steady always be
"Never shoot where you can't see."

You may kill or you may miss
But at all times think this:
"All the pheasants ever bred
Won't repay for one man dead."

Mark Beaufoy - 1902
