This was my first coyote that came running in on a string, right across an open field.  I wasn't sure if he was even going to stop for me to get a shot.

I started with a howl, and closed the deal in about 20 minutes with pup distress.  I drilled him right behind the shoulder with the TC Venture 204 Ruger 40 gr VMax.  He spun a few times then went straight down.  He weighed 31 lbs  9 oz.  The fur was still nice surprisingly.

He's in the freezer for now.   I might get the hide tanned.

Great Job.  Congrats.
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!
