Hope to go tonight !st time. Have a place have seen a few reds lookin for any help I can get
-
Try to keep the light high out of their eyes,
just so you can see them glow.
its tough when you're excited.
-
How about calls?the million dollar question
-
bulb/mouse squeaker to start and finish... in between I normally have 3-5 different calls that I do at least 2 series of calls with... use whatever you feel comfortable with... good luck...
-
bought a Primos pro dogg e-caller. Been doin alot of reading too. We'll find out
-
Best thing to do is get out there and work the bugs out
-
how about a light will a led headlamp do or do you need something like a coonlight?
-
Led might not be bright enough.
It will work out to 40 or 50 yds though.
Try it out on your dog if you have one
You don't want one too bright either.
A red filter will help also IMO
-
I have a couple of the 6volt Night Lites... plus I have the Night Lite gun light mounted on my tri pod... all work off the same 6V battery... found these are as good or better then anything out there...
-

Did you get any fur down?
-
no luck yet . Maybe tonights the night
-
Go have some fun and relax. Just make sure you're ready to shoot before you turn on your caller. My first fox I called last night I was hunting by myself and I thought I was ready but I wasn't. I forgot to close the bolt. Needless to say the fox is still breathing. The second one wasn't as lucky.

Dale, do you shut your scanning light off when you turn on your scope light?
sorry for the late reply... some how I missed this before...
normally I'll swing the gun around on the tripod when I spot eyes and this puts the shooting light on'em... I normally don't take the time to turn my head light off... most of the time I'm hunting with a partner so we have his head light and the shooting light on them so they only see the flash and by then it's to late... ;D
