What a night!!
Had a coyote hang up at 200 yds, and I still gained 100 yrds on him, bird distressing as I advanced.
This was in a shotgun and rimfire only spot, and I had the shot gun. That was the third set of the night.

Forth set, I had something scream at me at 50 yrds, after a howl.

Sixth set,I sneaked up a logging rd to a "y", called for 25-30 minutes and then went another 4-5 hundred yds for the 7th set.
Upon my return, I saw where 2 coyotes came down the left in the "y" after I left the 6th set, They came within 3 feet of my boot tracks and spooked out.

I will do one more stand at a good farm right at daylight, then get some sleep.

Hope everybody's night was better than mine

I went out for a little bit. Seen a coon and I think a coyote but when I went to hit it with the shooting light it was gone. I set the alarm for 2:30 and when I got up I didn't like the windy conditions. I went back to bed and plan on going out tonight after looking at Christmas light with the family. I'll try to get some coons into my set ups till it hits Sunday.

Some news:
Savage has discontinued the "edge" rifle
and the only one available for the first prize is a 22-250
I just wanted to get that out there before the hunt started
FYI..... The Edge is now called the AXIS and 50.00 more for basically the same gun !

Things were tough last night. Full moon and snow. I could see 200 yards without a light. Saw tons of bobcat , fox and coyote tracks. It was cold last night. Hunted till 3 am.
