'the bite' is just not on yet on the Susquehanna
By that, we are catching Smallmouths but they are spotty.
Tuesday, my son and I worked over PPL Dam (Shamokin Dam) then drifted above and under Selinsgrove RR bridge for 2 hours and caught 1 Bass using Jerk baits and Spinner baits under very windy conditions.
Then drifted a long deep stretch at the Isle of Que when we got into Smallmouths. This drift we were using Wacky Worms and the Bass were hitting like a machine gun. Probably 4 in the 11"-13" range most 14"18". We drifted that stretch two times. Then return to PPL dam and nothing, then drifted to boat ramp and picked up an 18" bass on the way.
5 hours of windy conditions, but we did catch Bass. No Walleye.
When the first real rain makes the river rise, then the Walleye will turn on. Some guys are picking up a Walleye or two, the but the bite isn't on yet. We need rain...this crazy weather
