Hern:
Brushwolf, this is my 13th season using this Red Fox board.
CoonDuke ask me about what I thought a Red Fox board 'should be'. We talked over what we both were looking for...longer length & denser fur at skirt.
As we talked, CoonDuke sketched a couple patterns with the bottle nose. We decided on pattern and ask Craig Todaro to make a dozen prototypes.
We each tested 6 boards that season. Fur looked good, but we ask Craig to narrow the neck slightly on the next boards. He did that.
Hence, we were satisfied with the change. We achived a bit more lenght with nose & neck of board. Also, with 5 1/2" board & pleating skirt we kept the dense fur where it should be, shoulders, back and rump.
A solid board gives a uniform look to all fur. No guessing when fourms are the same size.
