Powerfull Air Rifles
« on: December 16, 2013, 12:31:49 PM »
Does anyone shoot them.
I have been looking at getting a airforce air rifle but can not find a real reason to spend that much money on having one.
But who knows, maybe I do not need a reason.
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

Buckwheat,

Last month I purchased a Benjamin Marauder .25cal from pyramydair.com and I have to say what a blast to shoot these new high power air rifles!!  The only drawback is in Penna they're not legal to hunt with.   That being said I have a few farms where I use this to assist in rodent and problem animal control inside of the barns and grain silos.  My Mrod is accurate as any .22 that I have shot and I've taken animals out to 70yds with it.  One farm in particular lets me hunt because I eradicate the barn pests very quietly lol.  I am not an expert by any means but did tons of research before buying mine.  So if you have any questions send me a pm and I will get you my cell number.

For suburbia and in town a break barrel in .22 cal that delivers 18- 30 ft.lbs of energy is great. I use a Crosman "Discovery in .22 cal and have killed groundhogs @ 30 yrds. Hatsan Bt65 in .25 cal that delivers about 60 ft. lbs of energy and is a tack driver. Also a .45 cal rifle that delivers 150 ft. lbs. All these rifle though are PCPs (precharged pneumatics) and give you multiple shots on 3.000 psi of air but these can get very expensive.

As I said in my prior message I'm no expert but a newbie. My Mrod is the first PCP I've owned but certainly not the last one.  My experience so far has been great. Consistent dime size groups at 50 and 75 too! The price to start can be daunting but I'm able to practice my fine motor skills. Also motivated me to learn to read the wind so much better lol. But seriously can't beat the price to shoot. No recoil no fuss. If I wanna sit back and try some groups once the fams asleep sit at the table and shoot till I'm out of air.
AirForce guns are good from what I've read. Lots of choices! Good luck!

I know, I am thinking of getting the airforce in 25 cal.
But these guns you can change them to another cal.
It is no longer just the red rider

:) With a powerhouse air gun you don't need to worry about reloading supplies, just buy the bullets :D Now you will have the initial investment in a charging unit, but that's all, no powder, no primers,  and no cases. ??? I just need to handle one, as some are a bit  heavy. :P
