Locked & Loaded
« on: October 23, 2013, 09:01:58 AM »
Just figured I would get the season started off this year by wishing all you guys a safe and successful 2013-14 season and try to liven up the board by posting a few pictures.
I put a boiler room shot on my buck early this year so I'll be all freed up to put in a hard fur season between trapping and calling. Since I shot a buck so early this year I jumped on the opportunity to go to NY after some brown trout last weekend.

All in all it's shaping up to be a great season!

Good Luck
Carl

Thanks guys, I shot the buck at 29 yards popped both lungs and hit the arteries going into the top of the heart. I shot, he shuffled 30 yards, looked around and fell over! It couldn't have gone any better.

I probably caught 15 or so browns while I was up there. The big male in the picture was about 26" long and 14 lbs. I didn't weigh the big hen on the stringer but it was a touch bigger. I saw a guy lose a big male that I'm sure was 28-29"!  It took me awhile to get the hang of it. The water was dirty and fast. It was much more like fishing for stream trout then steelhead. It was nice to get out and dust the cobwebs off of my fly gear.

Hopefully you all will be seeing lots of pictures of me in the upcoming months especially in the "2013-14 species specific hunt"!

I'm going to the state of Indiana week after next to trap and hunt coyotes, I'll be sure to post pictures of that too!
