Less is better than more when hunting coyotes

Coyote hunting... I once remember one of previous coyote hunters that visited here that use to do all the seminars across Pa.. He once said: "You People Try To Hard To Call In The Eastern Coyotes!"  It finally sunk into me that he was right..

You need to walk in less,  use less calling sequence, use less high tech stuff, even hunting with less people etc etc etc...

One of the biggest mistakes his walking in to far on your first stand... The call is a tool...use the tool to call the coyotes to you don't go after them...the more you walk in on your first stand your going to be heard, seen and of course this all leads to being busted and you don't even know it!!! use your sounds and or your mouth or hand  call to stimulate a response from coyotes...

I will say most of the coyotes I've gotten here I only used one sound........A lone howl with no barks and waited usually I got those within a 5 minute wait

I'm not a seasoned harvester of predators. I try to apply all I've learned from hunting other animals such as deer and turkey. I used to call and call like in the hunting videos and I couldn't understand why those gobblers would hang up and it wasn't until I went silent that curiosity got them moving my way. It took me years to realize the once you let the know your there, silence will kill them a lot of times.

One February..Mosquito Creek hunt yet!! I called in two coyotes after two howls in 20 seconds... there we are three of us with shotguns and they are just out of shotgun range...75 yards away. To many houses around to use a center fire rifle or a rifle.. All we had was a good story to tell..
