It was like they were laughing at us
« on: September 18, 2013, 07:57:00 AM »
So my daughter and I got out again last night. We went out around 530 hoping to get setup in a decent spot and maybe have onr show its face in the daylight. We started our 1st set and hung out there for about 30-45min. No dice so we headed about 1/2 mile down the road more to another field. Set the call up 88 yards away and we hunkered down in pile of rocks brush and timbers. Sat there until dark. Nothing. We had time for one more set before we had to go. It's a school night lol. We got setup on the same dozer we were a couple nights ago where we had action. Sat there for a while and then decided to pack it up and head back to the jeep.  We were 200 yards from the jeep on the dirt road and out of nowhere the howls let loose. I counted 3. One very close, one farther out and one was way out only a faint howl. So we started running towards the jeep where the path cut up into the field. We got to the field edge through on a coyote in distress and scanned. No eyes. Stayed there for 15 min and then we left.

Ugh.  I feel like I'm getting so close but I'm missing the last piece of the puzzle to seal the deal.

What a rush though. Nothing like walking in dark with just a little flash light and a full moon and out of nowhere those bone piercing howls let loose. Man gets your heart goin.

Half the fun is just being out there....closing the deal is only another  piece of the pie.  If it were that easy, everyone would be out there calling in yotes.

I welcome the chance to hunt coyotes myself...I do take other hunters out and it's quite frustrating to me when I call them in for them and they miss them...I have two people that have now missed 6 coyotes between the two of them..
Predator 53 see when your hunting coyotes with other people things have to fall in place for everyone... One person that doesn't know what they are doing.. the hunt is over! No coyotes  in the trunk or bed!!!

When hunting with more than one.. Someone has to be the chief... to many chief's and the coyote hunt is already over!!!
