hunting with mulitple guys
« on: September 17, 2013, 12:34:10 PM »
We've got about 4 or 5 guys going out Saturday night. We are trying to figure out how set up. Anyone have ideas on how to this? We always drive for deer so I know how to up and deer drive with drivers and standers but I know that won't work that way.

I think most guys on here will agree with me...the fewer the better.  5 guys coyote hunting is a lot of scent floating around in the woods.

When you walk in, try not to talk...at all.  Walk in single file so there is basically only one scent trail left.  I would position the shooters about 100 yards away from the call and dwon wind.  Coyotes will circle down wind before coming in usually.  Thats why you want to have your shooter down wind of the call.  They may circle anywhere from 75-200 yards depending upon how comfortable they are.  If they pick up human scent while they are circleing....game over!

Many times you'll call in coyotes and never know it.  You'll move your set and see their tracks where they've circled just outside of your sight afterwards.
