Deerhtr...where are you located.  I have to caution you though...If one of us hooks up with you you could try out the Wilson Tripod.  You might  sell the one you are using the next day.  Really wish I got one sooner...

I'm up in Dingmans Ferry North East Pike County.

WOW went out to Fox Pro today, those guys are great! Upgraded my FX3 to the FX5

I really can't say enough about those guys. Mike walked in too, I got a few pic's of his truck.
Really COOL!

Cool. I was hoping it would do that.

By the way that rifle is a little over 11 pounds if anyone was wondering.

I also made my winter camo out of the same fleese, Walmart has it ya just need a machine to sew it up.

I have the Primos Tirgger styk tripod with a rifle holding platform, The Devil Bog tripod with the rifle holding platform, and the E Wilson Rest...

The E. Wilson Tripod wins the contest IMO.  one might say well it more expensive.. The two other Tripod mentioned are expensive too and you are not getting your moneys worth by buying them when you compare what the E Wilson rest can do...

I was truly disappointed in the BOG once I got the platform on... here is why....If you want to adjust the rifle up or down to make higher or lower shots you have to take the leg and adjust the leg to get it to the correct height..Now that platform that is on the BOG thats near 65.00.  The tripod it self is well over a  $120.  So it could cost you about $185.00 for the BOG set up and platform..

The Primos Trigger Styk... The tripod cost about $139.00 with just a Y or V rest to hold the rifle...However I removed that and installed about $18.00 platform from the mfg who makes ammo boxes.. the platform can be installed on camera tripod for shooting.. I have killed a few fox with the Primos using this set up but again..$157.00 for the Primos with the platform... Sometime the leg sticks on it too so it's doesn't even work right...

Just think about how much you are already paying for in some instances things that your not getting your money worth out of.  The two commercial rest...The BOG and the Primos should be a lot cheaper IMO...

The E. Wilson Rest... I use it for night time hunting, Shooting chucks,  and sighting in all my guns even slug guns.. You try to do that with your Primos and BOG and those tirpods are going to take off. So you do get what you pay for... However your not getting your moneys worth on the two cheaper rest..

The Bog and the Primos are OK for chuck hunting.. However for sighting in your deer rifles, and  for hunting at night they are not my first choice.. the E. Wilson rest is.

And here is the website for his great products.

The BOG Devil Tripod  with the platform on it will see action for chucks this Spring..I missed an easy shot at a red fox this season when I tried to adjust the leg down..It was 20 yards in front of me and I was using a rifle..As I fumbled with the leg he saw movement and took off... My son was using the E. Wilson rest.. He was seeing all of this develop from my side.  However he couldn't shoot because the fox was to close to me..  E. Wilson Tripod is like the machine gun stands for antiaircraft.. You can swing right you can swing left you can swing up and you can swing down.. Now taking the leg and trying to find the fox on the horizon is tough at night....So...The BOG is good in the day time for chucks but just not the best... If you have the BOG you know what i'm talking about how your have to take one of the legs to adjust your rifle now to shoot higher or lower...The  Primose Power Styk on the other hand... does all the things E. Wilson does but it not as steady... I tend to use the Power styk when I'm using the  22 WMR bolt action Marlin... Now to shoot a shotgun out of the Primos Power Styk makes it dance... But not in E Wilson Tripod...  E. Wilson rest is the Cadillac of the tripods... That what they use to compare cars to when i was a kid.  Not that it's true but Cadillac were suppose to be better than other cars but they were$$$$$$$$$. there is nothing wrong with  owning other tripods... I hunt with my son I kind of want him to get a shot at the fox so he uses the Better rest and I use the Primos and the BOG.. But Now I use the Primos at night unless he not hunting with me than I use E. Wilson rest instead of the Primos Power Styk.. Make sure what ever Tripod you use that you do change it from the Y or V rest to a platform...You want the rifle to beheld there not just resting in a Y or V....Unless you guys are such snipers that you can use the V and or Y when you make your shots!! Thats up to the person... Maybe they are so good they don't even need a tripod.. I know better for me as a shooter ... I need a good tripod to shoot from at night if i want to kill with a rifle .

Here let me showe you how I modified my Primos Power Styk to at least work well with 22 WMR rifles for night time shooting:  You get this platform from the company that makes those plastic ammo boxes.. I have seen them on the wall at Grice Gun Shop too. the have a few there... I just removed the V and or the Y and installed this shooting platform that works on camera tripods..You don't need to put the big search light on it but I figure I try it... If you really know me you know I play around with all kinds of gadgets and stuff to make predator hunting better... I took the red light off and did use  250 kill light on my scope but I will be using the Conevore 5 now..

Ya that would be a good slogan...Seeking Coyote now that you own one you know what I mean to how you can swing right, swing left, swing up, swing down and swing right around and shoot one right behind you.. But watch out you don't trip over a leg...LOL  LOL

Here is another picutre of the Primos Power styk and the ammo box mfg shooting platform.. Install in seconds...

Good to see you posting here Uncle Buck...I've missed you.

Anybody make any modifications to their Wilson Tripod?  I am thinking of adding a stick on level on the top to make sure I keep myself / crosshairs level.  Thinking of painting mine tan maybe?
